Just returned from Polly's in Devizes where I took my elderly motherfor a snack and scone. Service very good, tea also good quality. However no atmosphere, sandwiches whilst fresh were more 'pub type' in as much as bulky and certainly not easy to handle for plus 70 year olds. Scones were served cold and clotted cream was too hard as still chilled. My mother's lemon drizzle cake was dry (not fresh) and tasteless. Very dissapointed and we shall not be spending any of our hard-earned money again in this establishment. The brand name (Polly's) is the main attraction and certianly not the quality of food.

The reason Hox Brasserie wasn't on the page is because I hadn't been there yet! As I say at the top of the article, it's all about our opinion based upon our (unsolicited) visits.

However, I have now been to Hox for lunch and it was rather splendid. Next time I'm definitely going to try it for an evening meal! The service was also superb - it helps to make the experience all the better.

I've added it to the list :-)
